Green Schools Update

This year we continue our theme Litter and Waste and Global Citizenship. We are recycling batteries for Weee Ireland and print cartridges for  infotone.ie. By doing so ,  we are helping the environment and  also helping the sick children in Crumlin and Laura Lynn. We will get our  shoe boxes ready for Team Hope during our Halloween break.

School Tour 2017

A great day was enjoyed by all in Galway with a trip to the Aquarium, beach and playground. All the children thoroughly enjoyed our day out especially the beautiful day out on Salthill beach where the children worked hard to dig out a beautiful boat. A stop in Supermacs on the way home left everyone fed and content after a lovely outing in the sunshine.

Bring and Buy Sale for Bóthar

A great day was had by all the children in Lismoil N.S. today March 10th. We held a Bring and Buy sale for Bóthar.  All children , big and small, have been busy doing a “Spring clean”  at home, gathering toys, games, DVDs and books for the sale. This ties in with our Green Schools theme of re-using. The sale took place in the Junior room at 1.30 pm and Daniel our TY student was our sales man for the day! We managed to raise €103 for Bóthar even though items were priced from 5c to €2 only, so everyone managed to go home laden with bargains galore!!! We should be able send a flock of Guinea fowl and a Water Filtration system to our friends in the Developing world and also we can put the remaining €13 into the Trócaire box for our Lenten Campaign. We are well on our way to our next Green flag  for Global citizenship !

The feeling of giving is good!!
